Fibre Works Farm, home to Alpacas and Shetland
sheep, the Fibre Works Gallery and some dynamic Norwegian Buhund stock dogs, is glad you
stopped in to visit. Fibre Works Farm started with purebred Alpacas in 1995 and expanded
to include a flock of purebred Shetland sheep in 1998.
Our focus has been on quality
fibre right from the start of our endeavour and we have used our luxurious alpaca and
Shetland fibre for handspinning, commercial spinning, knitting, crochet, weaving, felting
and rug making. We have a remarkable collection of fibre works, from airy, knitted needle
lace scarves to amazingly soft, water resistant Scandinavian type outdoor sweater-jackets.
Visit the Fibre Works Gallery to see our raw fleeces, rovings, yarn and kits for sale as
well as our fibre works and custom pieces.
Bergen Reg'd Norwegian
Buhunds is also part of the family at Fibre Works Farm. Buhunds have been used in Norway
for centuries to look after farmstead and stock. We find the Buhund to be the perfect town
and country dog, very adaptable and sociable with a solid work ethic, strong herding
instinct and desire to please.
